Abundant valley quail
Home to some of the most abundant Valley (California) quail found anywhere in the Pacific Northwest.
Big coveys, rich habitat
Hunters encounter large numbers of wild quail in dense, woody cover along the Malheur River — coveys of 25+ birds are common. The corridor also holds dove, pheasant, turkey, waterfowl, and mule deer.
Seasoned hunters and beginners
Hunts are not “officially guided,” but we help you navigate the property and find birds, which tend to congregate in the same areas each year.

Relatively flat terrain, accessible to hunters of all ages and fitness levels.

Pricing & Booking
Straightforward rates, no hidden add-ons
- Daily rate
- $350 per day, per gun
- Hunt duration
- 6–7 hours in the field
- Hunting options
- Quail only, or quail + bonus waterfowl for the same price (waterfowl depends on duck numbers that day)
- Group size
- Minimum 2 hunters per day; 3–4 hunters easily accommodated
- Deposit
- 50% down ($175) secures your date. Hunts booked within 14 days of the hunt date must be paid in full.
Cancellation policy
All hunts are non-refundable. If you need to cancel, please try to find a replacement hunter. If none is found, we'll do our best to negotiate an alternative hunt day with you.

Hold your date with a 50% deposit of $175 per gun, or call, text, or send an inquiry and we'll lock it in personally.
If your hunt date is more than 14 days away, pay the deposit below. If it's within 14 days, please pay in full.
Already paid your deposit? Use the same deposit link above to pay your remaining $175 balance before your hunt date — we'll follow up with a reminder as your date approaches.
What to Bring
Come prepared — here's the short list
Licensing
- Current Oregon hunting license (or valid out-of-state license) and appropriate game bird stamps required day-of.
- Bag limits and licensing follow Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife regulations.
- Hunters ages 12–17 must be accompanied by an adult, hold a hunting license, and have completed a hunter's safety course.
- A signed liability waiver is required for all hunters before hunting the property (see the Waiver section below).
Gear
- Bird hunting vest, ear and eye protection (eye protection strongly recommended), shotguns and ammunition.
- Hunter orange shirt, vest, cap, or other bright colors required while hunting upland birds.
- Lead shot is fine for all upland bird species; steel or other non-toxic shot is required only if hunting waterfowl.
- Camouflage clothing is recommended for waterfowl hunters — consider bringing a camo face mask so decoying birds aren't spooked.
- Dress warmly for winter conditions, and bring an extra shirt layer in case you perspire through your first layer early in the day.
- Duck and goose decoys are supplied by the ranch, but hunters are welcome to bring their own.
- Bring a cooler with ice and large zip-lock or trash bags to keep harvested birds cool until you get home — the ranch does not clean birds for hunters.
Food & Drink
- Hunters supply their own lunch, snacks, and beverages — this is about wild bird hunting, not gourmet dining. No alcohol is permitted during the hunt day. We provide free hot coffee, tea, cocoa, and extra water all day long.
Dogs
- Trained hunting dogs are encouraged — pointing and flushing is key to success here.
- Non-hunting dogs are discouraged for safety reasons.
Waiver
- All hunters must sign a liability waiver before hunting the property.
Print it, sign it, and bring it along — or email a scan ahead of time. You can also sign a copy when you arrive.
